Awning Windows

Hinged at the top and opening outward from the bottom, awning windows shed rain while remaining open — making them one of the most practical ventilation options in Canadian climates.

Awning windows create a canopy effect when opened: the top is fixed while the bottom swings outward, allowing ventilation while shedding rain away from the interior. This makes them particularly practical in bathrooms, laundry rooms, and basement windows where fresh air is needed regardless of weather conditions. They are frequently installed above or below larger picture windows to add ventilation without interrupting the primary view. Available through Marvin in wood, Fibrex, and fiberglass across the Ultimate and Elevate collections.
